The ceiling features imported Canadian tongue-and-groove cedar with detailed trim work throughout.

South Side Flats Rooftop Observation Deck – Pittsburgh, PA
This South Side Flats rooftop observation deck was a truly unique build, with every material hand delivered more than 50 feet above ground level. Constructed with pressure-treated framing over an existing flat roof system, the entire structure was carefully flashed and sealed to protect the building envelope and ensure long-term performance.
A custom spiral staircase completes the design, providing architectural character while maximizing space. The sleek black balusters visually disappear when seated, preserving unobstructed views in every direction.
From the deck, you can see Oakland and the iconic Cathedral of Learning, look down the Monongahela River toward the Pittsburgh skyline, and enjoy the South Side Slopes rising behind the townhouse. A lower-level entertaining area offers an intimate seating space for two and a convenient alternative access point to the observation deck.
This project blends structural precision, waterproofing expertise, and panoramic city views — making it one of the standout rooftop builds in Pittsburgh.
